Lieve mensen,
Afgelopen woensdag stond ik onder de douche en ineens kreeg ik een idee. Een Treasure Bag! Ja, dat moest het zijn. Mijn creatieve bijdrage aan de wereld waarin we nu leven. Gewoon omdat ik voel dat het nodig is. En leuk om te doen!
Voor alsnog mogen wij naar het strand, het bos en de parken. Maar wel op gepaste afstand van je medemens natuurlijk. Zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, kunnen de kinderen hun schatten uit de natuur verzamelen en in hun eigen tas bewaren. Geen gedoe met plastic zakjes en tasjes. Hun eigen tasje die ze zelf mogen vullen met wat dan ook, schelpjes, blaadjes, veren, takjes, noem het maar op. In de tuin of op het balkon kunnen ze een leuk hoekje maken met alle gevonden schatten. Zo kun je er ook een spelletje van maken als je de natuur in trekt om zoveel mogelijk van iets moois te verzamelen. En er later mee te knutselen.
Het tasje is naar eigen inzicht zelf helemaal aan te passen. Het tasje kan bijvoorbeeld hoger worden gemaakt. De flap kan zonder bobbels, voor een stoerdere look. Je kunt de hengsels juist aan de buitenkant van het tasje bevestigen en kwastje eraan vast maken voor een meer bohemian stijl. Ook kun je alleen het regenboogje gebruiken, of het wolkje. Of helemaal niks op de flap. Qua kleuren en katoen garen is er ook van alles mogelijk! Ik heb garen gebruikt die ik gewoon had liggen. Mijn tasje is gehaakt met Durable Double Four, geschikt voor haaknaald 4,5-5. Ik heb de tas dubbeldraads gehaakt, waardoor het een stevig modelletje wordt. Om de flap wat soepeler te houden heb ik gekozen om deze enkel draads te haken. Om te voorkomen dat deze niet zo stug is en makkelijk open te maken. Er zit een knoopje onder om de flap vast te maken. Je kunt elk knoopje gebruiken. Maar ook dit is optioneel. Het hengsel heb ik in 1 kleur gehaakt, maar kun je uiteraard ook in 2 kleuren doen voor extra stevigheid. Wel zou ik het hengsel dan zeker 2 of zelfs 3 steken minder breed maken. Het is belangrijk dat het tasje van 100% katoen wordt gehaakt of een combi van merendeel katoen. Maar of dit nu dunner garen is geschikt voor haaknaald 2,5-3,5 of wat dikker garen zoals Durable Double Four, pas je haaknaald erop aan door met 1 tot 2 maten groter te gaan
dan aangegeven op je label. Ik had van de Mint kleur net te weinig om het hengsel te maken. Ongeveer 12 toeren had ik nodig van een nieuwe bol. Je kunt voorkomen dat je 2 bollen nodig hebt van je basis kleur door in het hengsel een kleur wissel te doen. Dan heb je aan 2 bollen genoeg. De Treasure Bag is gebaseerd op mijn zoontje zijn leeftijd (bijna 4) en lengte, ongeveer 1 meter.

Where to start? Corona has the world in it's grip. Nature takes control and let us start again. We are forced to live as isolated as possible. Which can be quite a task with (small) children. But the quality time we are allowed to spend with our children is worth a lot to me. Last Wednesday I was in the shower and suddenly I got an idea. A Treasure Bag! Yes, it was supposed to be this. My creative contribution to the world we live in now. Just because I feel it's necessary and fun to do!
For now, we can go to the beach, the forests and the parks. But at an appropriate distance from other people, of course. As the name suggests, the children can collect their treasures from nature and keep them in their own bags. No hassle with plastic bags and sachets. Just their own bag which they can fill with anything they want, shells, leaves, feathers, twigs, you name it. In the garden or on the balcony they can make a nice corner with all the found treasures. You can also play a game if you go into nature to collect as much of something beautiful as possible. And later to craft with it. The bag is completely customizable at your own choice. For example, the bag can be made higher. The flap can be made without bubbles, for a cooler look. You can attach the handles to the outside of the bag and attach tassels to it for a more bohemian style. You can also use only the rainbow, or the cloud. Or nothing at all on the flap. In terms of colors and cotton yarn, anything is possible! I used yarn that I just had lying around. My bag is crocheted with Durable Double Four, suitable for crochet hooks 4,5-5. I crocheted the bag double-threaded, making it a solid model. To keep the flap a bit more supple I chose to crochet this single threaded. To prevent it from being so stiff and easy to open. There is a button underneath to attach the flap. You can use any button. But this is also optional. I've crocheted the handle in 1 color, but of course you can also do it in 2 colors for extra firmness. I would make the handle 2 or even 3 stitches less wide when do so. It is important that the bag is crocheted of 100% cotton or a combination of mostly cotton. But whether this thinner thread is suitable for crochet hook 2.5-3.5 or a bit thicker thread like Durable Double Four, adjust your crochet hook by going with 1 to 2 sizes bigger than indicated on your label. I didn't have enough of the Mint color to make the handle. I needed
about 12 rounds of a new bulb. You can avoid that you need 2 balls of your basic color by making a color change in the handle. In that case 2 bulbs is enough. Pattern is based on my sons age (almost 4) and lenght, app. 100cm .

Rainbow
Use crochet hook 2.5 and the 4 colors of cotton you have chosen to make the rainbow. I chose red (RO), yellow (GE), green (GR) and blue (BL). The color you want as the bottom color you have to use first. So in this case I started with blue (BL). We're going to crochet back and forth and not around.

4. Hecht opnieuw aan, aan de andere kant van het midden van je wolk, sla ongeveer 5-6 steken over. 2 losse, 6st in dezelfde steek, 1hv in de volgende steek. Hecht af.
Naai met een paar steken de wolk onder de regenboog in het midden vast.
Naai de regenboog met wolk op de flap. Werk alle draden weg.
Cloud
Use crochet hook 5 and Scheepjes Sweetheart Soft. We work in rounds here.
1. MR, chain 2 (does not count as first dc for whole pattern for the cloud), 6dc, close MR, sl st in 1st stitch. (6)
2. Chain 2, 2 dc in each stitch. (12)
3. Chain 2, 6dc in 1st stitch, 1sl st in the next stitch, fasten off.
4. Attach again, on the other side of the center of your cloud, skip about 5-6 stitches. Chain 2, 6dcin the same stitch, 1sl st in the next stitch. Fasten off.
Sew in the center of the rainbow the cloud under the rainbow with a few stitches.
Sew the rainbow with cloud on the flap. Sew in the loose threads.
Hengsel
Gebruik haaknaald 5 en een kleur naar keuze waarmee je de tas hebt gehaakt.
1. Zorg dat je een lang draad laat hangen om het hengsel mee vast te maken aan de tas.
7 losse, 1 hfst in de 2elosse vanaf de haaknaald, 5hfst. (6)
2. 1 losse, keer je werk, hfst in elke steek. (6)
3. t/m 85. Herhaal toer 2. Je hengsel is ongeveer 80cm lang. Laat een lang draad hangen om het hengsel vast te kunnen maken.
Hecht één van je kleur aan in de hoek van je hengsel. Haak vaste langs beide lange zijden van je hengsel. Hecht opnieuw aan in de andere kant van je hengsel. Hecht af en werk de draden weg (behalve de lange draden die je moet gebruiken om het hengsel vast te maken).
Keer je tasje binnenste buiten en speld één kant van je hengsel vast op de tas. Hecht je hengsel goed vast, maar let op dat je niet te ver naar buiten gaat zodat je draad niet te zien is aan de buitenkant. Hecht af en werk je draad weg. Speld de andere kant van je hengsel vast en naai deze ook goed vast. Hecht af en werk je draad weg.
Keer je tasje weer goed en je tasje is bijna klaar.
Handle
Use crochet hook 5 and a color of your choice with which you have crocheted the bag.
1. Make sure you leave a long thread to attach the handle to the bag.
Chain 7, 1hdc in the 2nd chain from the crochet hook, 5hdc. (6)
2. Chain 1, turn your work, hdc in each stitch. (6)
3. to 85. Repeat round 2. Your handle is about 80cm long. Leave a long thread to attach the handle to the bag.
Attach one of your colors into the corner of your handle. Crochet single crochet along both long sides of your handle. Re-attach to the other side of your handle. Fasten off and sew in the threads (except for the long threads you need to use to attach the handle).
Turn your bag inside out and pin one side of your handle to the bag. Attach your handle firmly, but make sure you don't go too far out so that your thread is not visible on the outside of the bag. Fasten off and sew in the thread. Pin the other side of your handle and sew it in place. Fasten off and sew in the thread.
Turn your bag over again and your bag is almost ready.
Knoopje
Je kunt elk knoopje gebruiken welke je wil. Ik had toevallig nog een leuk hartjes knoopje.
1. Naai je knoopje op de tas, onder de flap.
2. Haak een ketting van 16 losse, maak dit vast aan de binnenkant van de flap. Maak de lus zo strak of los dat je nog wat ruimte hebt als de tas gevuld is en de flap er overheen zit.
Button
You can use any button you want. I just happened to have a cute little heart button.
1. Sew your button on the bag, under the flap.
2. Crochet a chain of 16 chains, attach it to the inside of the flap. Tighten or loosen the loop so you still have some space when the bag is filled and the flap is over it.
